Hello friends!
This blog is our way to keep you, the ones we love, up to speed on our travels around South East Asia. We have followed the grand old Aussie tradition (“the Sydney Opera House”, “the Great Sandy Dessert”, “the Snowy Mountains”) of naming things as they are, and so we present … (drumroll, curtains) … the Whiteleys in Asia! Also we were pressed for time.
In September, Steffi was made redundant after 15 years at her company. We had been planning to do a big family trip before Finn started school in 2025, and the tech startup Alex has been at for 4 years has just been acquired, so it felt like the universe was sending us a message. Now is the time.
So Alex resigned, we’ve put the Manly house on AirBnB and after a mad scramble, a month later here we are!
We won’t lie, it’s not organised.
But we hope you enjoy it. Or at the very least, you are reassured that we are safe and having fun.
